Watch: Video of Dale Steyn Foxing Pujara Goes Viral, After Pacer Announces Retirement

Dale Steyn, who has contributed so much to cricket for 16 years, has decided to retire from the sport. On Tuesday, he shared the news on social media. Steyn is regarded as a fast-bowling icon in his country. He plans to become a “dog dad” once he retires. In addition, he plans to become a coach.

In His Retirement Statement, Dale Steyn Shared A Special Message?

He debuted in 2004. For the South African national team, Steyn played 93 Tests, 125 ODIs, and 47 Twenty20s. Steyn ranks 15th on the list of most international wickets across all formats with 699 wickets from 265 games.

The fastest 400 wickets in a Test match still belong to him. From 2008 to 2014, he held the top spot in the ICC Test rankings for bowlers for a record 263 weeks.

A video of him foxing Cheteshwar Pujara went viral on Twitter. Below is the link-

In 2008, he was named the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year. His career was distinguished. Steyn has decided to end his successful career due to Covid 19’s limitations.

“I guess Covid-19 kind of made me see things really differently now. It was not fun anymore. If it is not fun then it is not worth doing.”

Bittersweet, but grateful” is how he summed up his mental state in his post on social media.

Steyn played for the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League in March. Last year, he retired from Test cricket as South Africa’s top wicket-taker with 439 wickets. He was also named to the ICC’s Test team of the decade.

Steyn last played international cricket for South Africa on February 21, 2020. He described it as bittersweet in his statement. Despite this, he is grateful to be able to play the game he loves.

After the announcement, what did the former Pacer post on social media?

“It has been a really long December. There is surely some reason to believe that maybe this year will be better than the last. I cannot remember the times that I have tried to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass me by.”

It has been 20 long years since training, playing matches, travelling, losses, wins, strapped feet, jetlag, joy and the endless brotherhood. There are too many memories to tell and share. Too many faces to thank. So I left it to the experts at the end. To add to that and sum up, my favourite band, the Counting Crows.”

“Today I officially retire from the game I love the most. Bittersweet but grateful. Thank you, everyone. From my family to teammates, journalists to the fans. It has been an incredible journey together.”

County Champ posted a spell on Twitter in which he set up Pujara to dismiss Dale Steyn. After Dale Steyn announced his retirement from cricket, we had to relive Pujara’s beautiful set-up. Highlights of how they were outclassed must give many batsmen nightmares.

Dale Steyn was one of the greatest bowlers in the history of cricket. His contribution to South African cricket is unparalleled. He inspired many cricketers to become fast bowlers. Beyond The Posts can only say three simple words and speak for the fans of the game: Thank you, Dale!

Does Prithvi Shaw have a chance of playing Test cricket for England?

Prithvi Shaw has been recalled to the Indian Test squad after some remarkable performances at home. Shaw played white-ball cricket during the recent Indian tour to Sri Lanka.

At first, the BCCI did not select Prithvi for the England tour. As a result of Shubman Gill’s injury, Shaw was added to the squad. Suryakumar Yadav has also joined the squad in England with Shaw.

Prithvi Shaw has played five Tests in his career, scoring 339 runs at an average of 42.37. He has scored one century and two fifties in the longest format of the game at the international level.

Despite his struggles in the previous Test, Shaw is unlikely to replace KL Rahul in the team. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are likely to open the innings in the final two Test matches of the England series. Shaw will try to do well in the upcoming white-ball games.
