Finally, on September 19, we will be witnessing the much awaited IPL phase 2 in the UAE. IPL’s schedule has been released, with a few surprises.
Post-pandemic, all sports tournaments that were either halted or delayed have resumed. However, many schedules of several events also appear to overlap. Players as well as the organizing committee face challenges.
In a very short time, the IPL and the T20 world cup will follow each other. This has led to a widespread dilemma among the players. When you have to sacrifice one for the other, it is definitely a critical decision.
As a result, the most talked-about team of the IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore, is currently facing difficulties. RCB appears to be losing players at a crucial time, mostly Aussies, despite leading the points table. Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson, and Adam Zampa are not listed for the RCB.
With 3 Australian players not taking part in the second phase of IPL, Hasaranga is the new addition for RCB.
Aussies cite personal reasons, while we know that most may be anticipating bio-bubble fatigue, while others believe they might be preparing for the world cup.
RCB has signed spin sensation Wanidu Hasaranga in the place of Zampa, some days ago. Hasaranga has excellent bowling figures and his addition will strengthen the bowling attack.
Asked about Hasaranga’s reaction, he says that he is both excited and honored to be a part of this team. However, we have also learned another interesting fact about this young man.
He posted several old posts with pictures of Indian captain Virat Kohli. This affirms that he loves the skipper. Kohli fans were thrilled to learn this and took to Twitter to share their excitement.
Watch Hasaranga’s old tweets here:
As of 2016, Hasaranga was among Kohli’s fans. Hasaranga wrote these two posts in 2016. He appreciated Kohli’s accomplishments in both of these.
Kohli is referred to as a hero in one of the IPL editions in which he scores the most runs. He was named the man of the tournament as a result. Virat wears the Indian team jersey in another post praising the skipper.
One of the largest fan bases in the world belongs to Virat Kohli. The result is that RCB is the most talked-about team despite its poor performances and trophy droughts. It is an entirely different experience to have a fan play for his dream captain within the squad itself.
Virat’s bowling woes will be eased by Hasaranga’s addition. Additionally, it would be interesting to know who will replace Zampa’s other Australian counterparts. We will have to wait until the final reveal of the squad.
