Scottish Micheal Leask’s wicket becomes Shakib al Hasan’s 108th T20 wicket, making him the highest wicket taker in T20 history atop Lasith Malinga with 107.
Hasan’s 108th wicket came in his 89th match as the Bangladesh squad went up against Scotland in a group stage match. Although Bangladesh lost the match, Shakib bagged an important record for himself in the process. The left arm spinner, earlier this year became the only player to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets.
Shakib’s form remains consistent as always no matter how the media spins it, but a young Bangladesh Squad has a lot of work to do in terms of balancing their batting line up to get to the Super 12 stage of the World Cup.
Shakib, Bangladesh’s highest wicket taker in tests, also became their highest wicket taker in ODI’s and reached the top of the ICC All Rounder rankings for T20 internationals.
