Kohli Unphased Over Bhuvaneshwar Criticism from Media and Fans

Although Bhuvaneshwar Kumar’s IPL 2021 season didn’t go so well, he seems to have the captains full support.

Kumar, who had an average economy of 7.97, probably his worst in the IPL, did manage to show his worth for the Sunrisers in the death overs, limiting the likes of an always in-form AB De Villiers.

When asked about Kumar’s fitness, Kohli said, “No, not at all concerned, his economy rates still continue to be top notch, something that he’s always been known for and his experience comes to the fore under pressure. If you see the game that we (Royal Challengers) played against Sunrisers, the last game, where he had to close out the game against AB de Villiers, probably one of the two or three most destructive lower-order finishers in the T20 game..”

He continued, “It explained or spoke volumes of what experience Bhuvi brings on the field, whenever we play – just the understanding of hitting the areas, according to the dimensions of the field, and what balls to bowl at what time.”

“He’s back to being at full fitness, which augurs really well for our team. I’m sure with the new ball, he’ll definitely get some kind of assistance through the tournament and, whatever little there’s on offer [for the pacers], Bhuvi knows how to make the maximum use out of that. So, his experience, as I said, is going to be priceless for us”, he concluded.

AB de Villiers opens up about personal details in a conversation with Jemimah Rodrigues

The second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021 hasn’t started off with the best of starts for AB de Villiers and his Royal Challengers Bangalore, but the South African great is certain that his team will win the coveted IPL title this season. In an interview with Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues on the show ‘Dream11 Dil Ya Dimaag,’ de Villiers said that he preferred his franchise over Manchester United and that M Chinnaswamy Stadium was preferable to Supersport Park in terms of the stadium.

The interview that the RCB talisman had with the Indian women’s cricketer

De Villiers responded positively when Rodrigues placed him in a difficult situation, asking him to choose between the Red Devils winning their first Premier League championship in 2012 and RCB winning their first-ever IPL trophy. “We are ready to win that IPL Trophy,” the South African remarked. Notably, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have yet to experience victory in the Indian Premier League, despite having qualified for the final three times (2009, 2011 and 2016).

The question was posed to De Villiers, who responded with a slap on the back when asked which venue he liked scoring runs the best. De Villiers stated that his favourite place to play cricket in the Chinnaswamy Stadium. “I do not play international cricket anymore. So, when I come to the Chinnaswamy and put my RCB jersey on, there is nothing that beats that,” said de Villiers, whose team will face the Chennai Super Kings in a match tonight in Sharjah.

Despite the fact that he has retired from international cricket, de Villiers chose himself over Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli when asked who he would choose to hit 20 runs off the last over. The Proteas captain, on the other hand, put his emotions on his sleeve when Rodrigues challenged him to travel back in time and win one game between the 2015 World Cup Semifinal and the 2016 IPL Final. “The World Cup is something that I’ve dreamed of since I was a child.” It was my first dream as a child when I was a little kid and first learned to play cricket.”

De Villiers represented South Africa in 114 Tests, 228 One-Day Internationals, and 78 Twenty20 Internationals, accumulating 8765, 9577, and 1672 runs in those formats, with 47 centuries and 109 half-centuries. Despite having declared his retirement from all forms of cricket in May 2018, the 37-year-old is currently involved in the Indian Premier League. De Villiers has scored 5056 runs at a strike rate of 152.34 in 177 IPL matches, with three 100s and 40 half-centuries.

The following is the transcript of the whole discussion between Jemimah Rodrigues and AB de Villiers:

An Interview with Wanidu Hasaranga on his Favorite Batsman

Wianidu Hasaranga has been in the news since joining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the second phase of the IPL 2021. He has been rewarded for his recent performances for Sri Lanka in the IPL. Hassan has made a significant contribution to both aspects of the game and is expected to be a future star.

Hasaranga’s earlier comments indicated some other interesting facts about him and his favorite batsman. Angelo Mathews is Hasaranga’s favorite batter. He said he enjoys watching the veteran’s batting.

Cricketers like Angelo Mathews have made Sri Lanka’s team successful over the years. His team has relied on him regularly to deliver crucial hits. A contract dispute with the board has kept him out of the squad recently.

He also mentioned his favorite bowler – Lasith Malinga.

Wanidu Hasaranga’s success story:

Sri Lankan team member Wanidu Hasaranga plays a key role in the current squad. He was named Player of the Series in the recently concluded T20I series against India. Furthermore, his performances won him an IPL contract with RCB for the remainder of IPL 2021.

Hasaranaga is a good addition to the RCB lineup. He has consistently delivered for the nation. Combined with Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, and Glenn Maxwell, the team will be deadly.

Hasaranga is a powerful mid-order batsman and an experienced leg-break bowler. He has taken 25 and 33 wickets, respectively, in 26 One-Day Internationals and 22 Twenty-20 Internationals for Sri Lanka. He also keeps batters off balance by bowling tight lines. With a T20I economy of just 6.26, Hasaranga is a dangerous bowler.

He scored 534 runs in ODIs and 192 runs in T20Is, respectively. Hasaranga has three half-centuries to his credit in ODIs and can contribute towards the end of an innings.
