Kevin Pietersen Reveals Who Has The Biggest Chance Of Winning IPL 2021

On September 19, the Indian Premier League’s second leg will begin with Mumbai Indians taking on Chennai Super Kings, their arch-rivals. Both teams have a reputation for being the most successful in IPL history. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has stated that CSK has a chance to win another IPL title ahead of the commencement of the UAE leg.

The IPL 2020 season for Chennai Super Kings was a disappointment. They did not advance to the Playoffs for the first time in the tournament’s history. The MS Dhoni-led team, on the other hand, reversed the tables this time and dominated the opening half of the IPL 2021. The squad is presently in second place in the points standings, having won five of the seven games they have played.

As a result, Pietersen stated that CSK’s success in the Indian leg of the IPL 2021 shocked him. He also put his hopes on the squad, claiming that they now have a great chance of winning the championship.

“Everyone had written off CSK’s old boys’ army before the IPL began in April, so watching them perform so well was a pleasant surprise. However, I’m not sure how well this four-month hiatus will have worked out for them. It may take some time for them to get back into gear, especially the older guys. It might be a historic few weeks for the franchise if they are prepared.”  In his recent piece for betway insider, Kevin Pietersen writes, “They have a terrific opportunity of achieving a title that everyone believed was beyond them.”

Losing three or four games is not an option for the Mumbai Indians: Kevin Pietersen

The defending champions, the Mumbai Indians, are presently in fourth position on the points standings, with eight points. The side usually gets off to a sluggish start in tournaments before gaining traction. The Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, cannot afford to lose their first few games, according to Pietersen, because the tournament is almost halfway over.

“They have a tendency to lose their first few games and then improve as the tournament progresses. We’re getting close to the finish of the competition now. Because there is so little time to make up, Mumbai cannot afford to lose three or four games before they begin playing. They must be on it from the first ball if they want to keep their crown. Clearly, they are capable of achieving it, given the skill on their team,” he continued.

Ricky Ponting talks about Shreyas Iyer’s Return to the Delhi Capitals Team

Ricky Ponting, the head coach of the Delhi Capitals, is overjoyed to have his lead batter Shreyas Iyer back in the squad for the Indian Premier League (IPL’s UAE) leg, which starts on September 19. Due to a shoulder injury suffered during the limited-overs series against England, the Mumbai hitter was forced to miss the first half of the IPL. But, following a good recovery, Iyer is preparing to play for the Capitals in the IPL’s UAE leg.

“It’s wonderful to see Shreyas again. When questioned about Iyer’s comeback to the side, Ponting told DC, “He’s got an infectious attitude,” according to the HT.

Rishabh Pant captained the squad in the first half of the IPL 2021 in the absence of their first-choice captain Iyer. The team has won six games and is presently in first place in the standings. Many assumed that with Iyer’s return, the Capitals would restore him as captain, but that is not the case; Pant will be the designated captain for the duration of the tournament.

Iyer will score runs and win a few games, according to Ponting. “I’ve spent a lot of time talking to him, and his training has been excellent. He’s itching to return to the field, score runs, and win. “He’s a world-class talent who will undoubtedly contribute significantly to our team,” Ponting continued.

Ricky Ponting was pleased with the boys’ enthusiasm at pre-season camp

Ponting went on to say that the squad is looking well for the rest of the IPL season, and that his players have showed tremendous attitude and effort throughout the pre-season camp.

“I’ve been looking forward to returning to the Delhi Capitals camp for the past four months. When I work with the team, I have a blast, and it’s one of my favourite times of the year. I’ve been paying careful attention to what’s going on here. I’ve spoken with the coaching staff here, and they’ve done an excellent job thus far (in the pre-season camp). The players’ effort and attitude indicate that the camp has been well worth their time thus far. “I am really enthusiastic about what we have planned over the next four to five weeks,” the 46-year-old added.

Liam Livingstone can be replaced by 5 players if he misses IPL 2021

The Rajasthan Royals were one of the unluckiest franchises in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League. In the United Arab Emirates, the second phase of the tournament began without four-star overseas players, such as Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer and Andrew Tye.

In addition to Archer’s injury recovery, Stokes is taking a mental well-being break, and Tye and Buttler have opted out due to personal reasons. As of now, the Royals have signed Evin Lewis, Oshane Thomas, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Glen Phillips as replacements. Another overseas player could miss the second phase of the IPL in 2021.

Liam Livingstone injured his shoulder during a county cricket match. While there is no official announcement on Livingstone’s participation in the IPL 2021, the Rajasthan Royals can replace Livingstone with any of the following five players if he misses the tournament:

1. Shaun Marsh

The former Orange Cap winner hasn’t played in the Indian Premier League for a long time. In the Indian Premier League, he was the first left-handed batsman to win the Orange Cap.

Marsh didn’t sell at the 2021 IPL auction. Liam Livingstone could be a suitable replacement for the Royals as a middle-order batsman.

2. Alex Hales

As part of the Rajasthan Royals‘ replacement signings, Liam Livingstone’s English teammate Alex Hales could return to the IPL. In the other T20 leagues, Hale has been exceptional.

He can change the game with his ability to score runs quickly. As an opening combination, Hales and Evin Lewis can destroy the best bowling lineups.

3. Colin Munro

While playing in the Pakistan Super League in the United Arab Emirates earlier this year, Kiwi all-rounder Colin Munro looked in fine form. Munro is a top-order batsman who can score runs quickly.

If the team needs his help in the bowling unit, he can also bowl part-time. Munro can replace Livingstone effectively in the RR squad.

4. Marnus Labuschagne

Marcus Labuschagne’s batting skills have been impressive. He scored the most runs at the inaugural World Test Championship, and he has also performed well in white-ball formats.

Labuschagne was an excellent all-rounder in the Big Bash League. RR could be a great team if he replaces Liam Livingstone if he does not play in IPL 2021.

5. Mushfiqur Rahim

Muhsin Rahim has never played for the Indian Premier League. But he is an experienced batsman. Additionally, he can keep wickets. As Mustafizur Rahman is already in the squad, the Royals may be able to add another Bangladeshi player to their team for IPL 2021.
