MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli Interact With Pakistan Players After Defeat, Win Hearts On Social Media

After India’s loss to Pakistan in their Super 12 fixture on Sunday, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni showed the “Spirit of Cricket” and interacted with the opposition players.

Despite a big defeat to Pakistan in a T20 World Cup Super 12 match on Sunday, captain Virat Kohli showed the “Spirit of Cricket” as he interacted with the opposition players after the match. Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. Openers Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam stitched together a 152-run partnership to help Pakistan cruise to the chase.

Kohli was seen speaking to Pakistan’s opening duo right after the match. Broadcasters also showed Team India mentor MS Dhoni in conversation with some Pakistan cricketers after the game and it sent social media into a state of meltdown.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took to social media to share a photograph of Kohli interacting with Rizwan Azam and captioned it as, “Spirit of Cricket! #WeHaveWeWill”.

Chasing a target of 152 runs, Pakistan reached 152 for no loss in just 17.5 overs. Openers Rizwan and Azam remained unbeaten after knocks of 79 and 68, respectively.

Earlier, India posted 151 for seven in 20 overs after making a disastrous start. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma were trumped by pacer Shaheen Afridi with the latter getting dismissed for a first-ball duck. Meanwhile, Rahul could only muster three runs off eight deliveries.

KL Says Dhoni’s Presence “Gives a Sense of Calmness’

The Indian youth selected for the reserve and main squad is enjoying Dhoni’s presence as they pick his brain to improve their game and India’s chances of winning the T20 World Cup

KL Rahul, who appeared for the Red Bull Campus Cricket Clubhouse session, said, “Obviously, MS Dhoni back with the team feels amazing because we have played under him and we have looked towards him as a mentor even when he was our captain.”

“We loved having him in the dressing room when he was the captain. We loved the calmness. We have all looked up to him to help us out, to have him here is amazing,” he said. “This gives us a sense of calmness. I have enjoyed spending time with him in the first two to three days and it has been a lot of fun. Looking forward to chewing his brain about cricket, captaincy and all things cricket.”

Inclusive of Rahul, the fans are not sure if the IPL finals win earlier this month was Dhoni’s last game ever. Speculation has emerged that Thalla might play his last game of cricket, for his side the Chennai Super Kings, in Chepauk, in front of the fans in 2022.

KL, said that despite Dhoni’s age, he still is a big competitor when it comes to IPL matches and playing against him.

“I think Dhoni can give any of us stiff competition, he definitely is a guy who can hit the ball farthest, he is very strong and he is good (while running) between the wickets. He looks the fittest, it is good fun to have him,” Rahul said.

MS Dhoni Teases A Return To The IPL In 2022

When Danny Morrison questioned whether CSK’s last game in IPL 2020 would be his final appearance in yellow, MS Dhoni said, “Definitely not.” The former Indian captain kept his promise and competeD in the gala event in 2021. However, many believe Dhoni will not play in the next season, and he has been dreadfully out of form with the bat.

That does not seem to be the case, as Dhoni has hinted at playing another IPL season. Speaking virtually to some of his supporters, the former Indian captain said that he would ‘hopefully’ play his last game in Chennai’s M.A. Chidambaram Stadium. With the current IPL 2021 in the UAE, Dhoni’s remark plainly suggests that he intends to play again next season.

“You will still have the chance to wish me goodbye. Hopefully, you will come to visit me in Chennai, where I will play my last game, and I will be able to meet all of my fans,” MS Dhoni addressed some of his supporters during a virtual engagement with India Cements. The news spread like wildfire among the wicketkeeper’s supporters, who were overjoyed.

MS Dhoni hasn’t been at his best with the bat this season

Meanwhile, Dhoni, who withdrew from international cricket last year, has been far from his best in recent seasons. The dasher, who is known for hammering sixes for pleasure, has failed to score runs. The 40-year-old has collected 84 runs in his first 13 appearances in the 2021 edition of the tournament, with an average and strike rate of less than 15 and 100, respectively.

These figures are far from outstanding. However, the talismanic player continues to excel in the areas of leadership and wicketkeeping. Notably, a big auction is planned for next year, with all clubs permitted to keep just a few players. As a result, it remains to be seen if CSK keeps Dhoni directly or whether the great cricketer will be auctioned off.

When it comes to CSK’s IPL 2021 campaign, the three-time champions have been on a run. After a difficult season, the Men in Yellow have easily earned a spot in the playoffs and will be keen to win it all again.

Gautam Gambhir Gives Advice Regarding MS Dhoni’s Batting Position For CSK

Against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match of the Indian Premier League in the United Arab Emirates, Chennai Super Kings recorded a comprehensive six-wicket win against Virat Kohli and his team. In the same vein, MS Dhoni and his team CSK have climbed to the top of the points table and are all but guaranteed a spot in the playoffs. Gautam Gambhir, a former Indian cricketer, has given an idea regarding  Dhoni’s batting order in the playoffs.

Gambhir went on to say that if CSK makes it to the playoffs, the CSK captain should be elevated to the top of the batting order. It is well known that Dhoni often enters the field in the sixth or seventh position and promotes other players ahead of himself. According to the former cricketer, it doesn’t matter if CSK is chasing or batting first; Dhoni should come to bat at number 4 in any situation.

“MS Dhoni should bat at No.4 after Chennai Super Kings qualify for the playoffs, regardless of whether you are chasing or batting first, in order to be able to spend more time in the middle of the innings. I’ll be interested in seeing it, and I hope it occurs. The greatest thing about a captain is that he can bat anywhere he wants, and he can do it at his own discretion,” Gautam Gambhir said on Star Sports.

Gambhir went on to say that three and four-number batsmen do not always come in and score runs and that Dhoni should take the initiative now and take the game to the opposition. Even in CSK’s most recent game against RCB, he appeared in great form and hit a four to add to his total.

It is not always the case that your No. 3 and No. 4 will score runs: Gautam Gambhir

“Your No. 3 and No. 4 hitters will not always be successful. You will have to come up with a bit of extra grit. The more runs you score, the simpler it will get to complete the target.” He said, “You will qualify for the playoffs, but it should not be that the burden rests on your shoulders, that you lose early wickets, and that you have to come in and score runs.”

When it comes to the game between CSK and RCB, although RCB could only muster 156 runs on the board, CSK put up a solid opening combination and went on to win the game by six wickets in the end. MS Dhoni and his team have climbed to the top of the standings and are virtually certain to make the playoffs.

Sanjay Manjrekar Was Shocked By CSK’s Decision Regarding Dwayne Bravo

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar was “surprised” when Dwayne Bravo was selected by the Chennai Super Kings for the encounter against the Mumbai Indians in the 30th Indian Premier League match. The veteran voiced his surprise, claiming that the Bravo hasn’t bowled in a long time. Dwayne Bravo led the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots to their first Caribbean Premier League title earlier this month. He scored 145 runs and took eight wickets in the competition. The 37-year-old veteran, though, was forced to miss two games due to injury.

He hasn’t bowled a single over in the last four games since returning from injury. Bravo was also the most costly of the Patriots’ regular bowlers, with an economy rate of 9.49. Bravo’s selection was questioned by Manjrekar, who believed the latter was not entirely fit.

IPL 2020: Dwayne Bravo Ruled Out Of Indian Premier League 2020 With Groin Injury: CSK CEO | Cricket News

Sanjay Manjrekar has some thoughts on the inclusion of Dwayne Bravo in the CSK team which he shared with ESPNcricinfo

Manjrekar also said CSK made the right decision in selecting Josh Hazlewood over South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi.

“They reasoned that Hazlewood would profit more than someone like Lungi Ngidi on the surface. It is an excellent decision, in my opinion. Shocked, Dwayne Bravo is on the team since I heard he had bowling problems. Despite concerns about his total fitness, am shocked CSK chose him.”

Manjrekar also believes that Faf du Plessis’ return to fitness will help CSK. He added, “It is fantastic news for CSK that Faf du Plessis is back in action after his groin injury.”

While playing for the Saint Lucia Kings in the CPL, Du Plessis had a leg injury and missed a few games. Against the Patriots, he also hit a century. The former South Africa captain scored 277 runs in nine CPL games at an average of 34.62 and a strike rate of 143.52.

In the game versus MI, Du Plessis didn’t have a particularly good performance. He went out to Trent Boult after bagging a duck. Bravo, on the other hand, hit three sixes and scored 23 runs off eight balls to help CSK record a daunting total of 156.

Gautam Gambhir Explains Why MS Dhoni Needs To Improve The CSK Batting

On September 19, the second phase of the IPL 2021 begins, pitting MS Dhoni and his team against Rohit Sharma and his team. It’s unclear if the five-time winners will have the upper hand against their arch-rivals once more. If CSK must improve one aspect of their game, it must be their batting, as they struggled last season and had a terrible run in the 2020 IPL. Even when the game was on the line, Dhoni stepped in at number six or seven and promoted a number of young guys.

In a similar vein, veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir believes that skipper MSD must improve CSK’s batting in order to have a successful run in the UAE this time. Gambhir believes that by dropping down the batting order, he is primarily attempting to serve as a mentor and wicketkeeper.

MS Dhoni is most likely attempting to be both a mentor and a wicketkeeper, according to Gambhir. MS may be able to play only 8-10 balls in a given circumstance, according to Gambhir, but it is becoming increasingly difficult for him to crack into the IPL due to his absence from the international circuit. In August 2020, the Ranchi
hero announced his retirement from the international circuit.

What Gautam Gambhir Said On STAR SPORTS Show GAME PLAN About MS Dhoni?

“MS is a batsman who would typically bat at number 4 or 5, but we saw in the first leg that he bats at number 6 or 7. There have been occasions when he has really pushed Sam Curran ahead of him. “He’s probably trying to be a mentor
and a wicketkeeper, who can lead the team and keep wickets.”

“If the circumstance arises where he will most likely have to play eight or ten balls, he can simply walk out there and hit them. It will be tough for him because, once you have retired from international cricket, the IPL is a very difficult event to enter; it is not like the CPL or other leagues. In the IPL, you’ll be up against some of the best bowlers in the world. The biggest problem for CSK, in my opinion, would be for the top-order to fire, which is no longer the case.”

Viral tweet about future CSK captain that was deleted by Ravindra Jadeja

MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings, is unlikely to play more than one season. When he retires from the Indian Premier League, the Chennai Super Kings will be left with a big hole.

The Chennai Super Kings can buy another wicketkeeper and a finisher, but they won’t be able to buy a leader like Mahendra Singh Dhoni. During his captaincy, the Chennai-based franchise has reached the Top 4 ten times out of eleven seasons. Only in 2020 did they miss it.

It is also expected that the Chennai Super Kings will win the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League, with the team firmly positioned in the Top 4 before the UAE leg of the competition.

Chennai Super Kings fans have been asked on Twitter who will be the team’s captain. Ravindra Jadeja, the star all-rounder of the Chennai Super Kings, responded.

After offering an opinion, Ravindra Jadeja promptly deleted the tweet

In the second phase of the Indian Premier League 2021, Ravindra Jadeja recently arrived in the United Arab Emirates to play for the Chennai Super Kings. The all-rounder replied to the following tweet using his jersey number ‘8’. CSK fans asked:

Who would be your pick to captaining the CSK team after MS Dhoni?

Jadeja tweeted the number 8, which is his jersey number, in response to that question. After deleting the tweet, fans took a screenshot. This screenshot of Ravindra Jadeja’s now-deleted tweet can be seen right here, which was shared by the CSK Fans Army themselves on their Twitter account.

Rashid Khan’s Helicopter Shot Reminds Fans of MS Dhoni

We continue to be awed by our T20 cricket season, and fans are simply delighted that cricket is back . Every sport was affected by the pandemic, and the die-hard fans missed watching their favorite sports. It doesn’t seem to be the case anymore; fans seem to be getting their money’s worth. Rashid Khan recently did something that reminded some cricket fans of a legend by the name of MS Dhoni.

Not for the first time, fans were reminded of the former Indian captain. He has been brilliant in the game. His contributions have immortalized cricket. His World Cup victories and “helicopter shots,” as well as his electrifying wicketkeeping, will be remembered. He was also deemed the best finisher in the game of cricket at one point.

The helicopter shot reminded cricket fans of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni and CSK

Rashid Khan scored a brilliant knock during the T20 Blast/Vitality Blast quarter-final. He won the Man Of The Match award with his bat. He scored 29* off nine balls to help his team win. Once again, he proved himself to be a capable allrounder. The fans were left in a nostalgic mood after watching one of his shots.

As Afghanistan’s cricketer hit a six, the ball cleared the fence. The use of the helicopter shot made famous by CSK skipper MS Dhoni was brilliant. The former Indian captain and wicketkeeper-batsman retired from international cricket last year. Fans still love him to date and follow his every move.

Here is Rashid Khan’s viral video of his brilliant shot:

The second phase of the IPL is just around the corner. Next is the T20 World Cup. The Afghan team will be focusing on performing well and making a name for itself in the game of cricket due to their participation in the international tournament after the political crisis.

Rashid Khan is a pillar of their strong side. As an all-rounder, he is clearly capable of making a significant contribution to his team.

A player can change the game at any time, not just with the ball but also with the bat. In recent years, he has become more proficient at this.

When he returns to the UAE for the phase-2 of the IPL, it could also be a deciding factor. Sunrisers Hyderabad will therefore rely on his contributions to win games. For them to qualify for this season’s playoffs, they will need to win some crucial matches. For now, however, all cricket fans will just miss a legend of the sport: MS Dhoni. Congratulations to Rashid Khan! What a knock!

Viv Richards is Omitted from Shaun Tait’s All-Time ODI XI

Former Australia fast bowler Shaun Tait was one of the quickest bowlers in the world. He used to clock speeds over 14o and scaring opponents. Sadly, Tait did not quite live up to his hype due to injury and other players edging him out.

His ODI format sates the most, picking up 62 wickets in just 35 games. Tate was also a star player in the Australian team that won the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

Tait was asked to pick his all-time favourite ODI team. Interestingly, there was one glaring omission from Taylor’s list: Viv Richards

For opening the match he picked –  Adam Gilchrist and Virender Sehwag. If Gilchrist would tear apart the opposition, then Sehwag was good at being fearless at the top for India. At number three, he picked the former Australian fast bowler Ricky Ponting while excluding Richards because he felt he has not seen the legendary West Indian batter play much. Ponting was an outstanding hitter at the number three position and in 2003 and 2007, he led Australia to two World Cup titles.

At number four and five he picked Sachin Tendulkar and Brain Lara. ODI cricket’s highest run-getter and the greatest hitter needs no introduction. At number six he picked Virat Kohli for most of his ODI career and his identity as a chase master.

It was MS Dhoni at number seven, but he was not sure about. Dhoni scored over 10000 runs and is widely regarded as the best finisher in cricket.

Shaun Tait picks his all-time ODI bowlers

Taylor named Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, and Shoaib Akhtar as his bowlers, with Warne being the sole spinner.

Shaun Tait’s all-time ODI XI:

Virender Sehwag, Adam Gilchrist, Ricky Ponting, Sachin Tendulkar, Brain Lara, Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram, Glenn McGrath, Shoaib Akhtar.
