Who should be the captain of RCB after Virat Kohli – Ashish Nehra states his choice!

Virat Kohli led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has performed very well in the Indian Premium League 2021. The team is on the line of being a part of the playoffs this year making it a great year for Virat Kohli. But as per the reports, this is the last season for Virat Kohli as a captain for the franchise, although he would be part of the squad as a batsman. A lot of opinions are being voiced of who should be the next captain of the team and one such name suggested by the famous bowler of his time, Ashish Nehra is that of the youthful Devdutt Padikkal.

There are a lot of experienced players in the squad such as Ab De Villers, Glenn Maxwell, Yajuvendra Chahal and many more. Ashish Nehra in his interview stated that “Devdutt Padikkal can lead the Royal Challengers Bangalore group adequately. In the event that the group is searching for a player as the skipper for quite a while, then, at that point, they should give up the captaincy to Padikkal.”

Ashish believes that Paddikal has all the qualities that make him one of the idealist candidates for the position. Devdutt has been doing very well in homegrown cricket and is quite young as well. He has scored 822 runs in 26 matches with his best score being an unbeaten 101.

RCB lost their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad where Devdutt Paddikal made the maximum run from the RCB side. Virat Kohli after the loss said that “I don’t think thus, the goal must be to attempt to make it happen quickly. We would prefer not to extend these games excessively profound, however having lost several early wickets, modifying was critical.

Maxi’s [Maxwell] run-out was the game-changing second as far as energy and Maxi was in the zone to get a few major overs. With AB [de Villiers] you are rarely out of the game; however it is tied in with ensuring that the person who’s in stream is protesting in the essential minutes. We had a decent first half with the ball yet not as powerful with the bat pursuing that down. Shahbaz [Ahmed] played an essential thump at that stage, it is a round of little edges, I think Sunrisers held their nerve and bowled out their last couple of conveyances really well to not permit us to get us those successes we were searching for.”
