Tymal Mills Must Play for England in the T20 World Cup, says Mahela Jayawardene

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all sports were suspended for a number of weeks and months.

As the fans can look forward to some exciting action in the coming months, starting with the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the T20 World Cup, cricket is finally back.

Former Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene, who is The Hundred’s Southern Brave’s head coach, has said he would be disappointed if a fast bowler from his team is not selected for the T20 World Cup.

New Zealand and Australia have announced their T20 World Cup squads so far; many selectors have a difficult time deciding who to leave out.

In a report from ESPNCricinfo, the head coach of the Southern Braves, Sri Lankan legend Mahela Jayawardene, says left-arm pacer Tymal Mills will be on the plane that flies English players to the UAE for the World Cup.

Mahela mentioned that Tymal Mills will be a good replacement for Jofra Archer and form a good partnership with Southern Brave teammate Chris Jordan, who is expected to play for England in the world cup.

The Southern Brave’s Tymal Mills was one of their best players. In the eliminator and final, the left-arm pacer took eight wickets in 10 matches and was extremely economical, taking three wickets for eight runs in 16 balls in the eliminator, and taking one wicket for nine runs in 20 balls in the final.

On August 21, the Southern Brave defeated the Birmingham Phoenix in the final of the inaugural ‘The Hundred’ men’s competition.
